Bozeman, MT (January 2, 2003) - Golden Helix, Inc. announced today it has successfully ported their HelixTree genetics analysis software and ChemTree sequential screening software to IBM's powerful AIX 5L platform. AIX 5L, an IBM UNIX OS, is designed for complex algorithms and resource intensive applications. It is also the native platform for IBM, which is used by many pharmaceutical companies for “database searching, chemical property computation, sophisticated quantum mechanical computations and clustering”.
AIX 5L is supported by much of the software available through IBM Life Sciences Division. The addition of HelixTree and ChemTree to those products already available to AIX 5L will give users more control and capability in the drug discovery process and save pharmaceutical companies, much on time and resources.
"Golden Helix is dedicated to meeting all the intense data analysis needs of the life sciences industry," remarked Christophe Lambert, CEO of Golden Helix, Inc. "With IBM, a longtime leader in the software industry, moving into the bioinformatics industry, it is very beneficial to both companies to have our software interoperate."
ChemTree® and HelixTree® are also available for Windows 2000, Windows NT, Linux, and many other UNIX operating systems.
