Plot Functions
16.3 Plot Functions
The button, selector, and mouse-driven functions are as follows:
16.3.1 Clicking at a Point to Show Values
If you left-click the mouse at a position on the x-axis, the value at that position (or spreadsheet row) for every selectable plot will be displayed in the lower left corner.
In a spreadsheet column plot, both the value v and negative base-10 logarithm of that value -log 10v will be displayed for each column of the spreadsheet row being shown.
16.3.2 Reset View
Pressing the Reset View button restores the plot to the original (unzoomed) view.
16.3.3 Copy to Clipboard
This button copies the table appearing at the bottom left to the clipboard so it can be pasted into other applications.
16.3.4 View Regression Results (Regression Plots Only)
This button, rather than Copy to Clipboard, appears if regression results are being plotted.
This button presents a brand new text-viewer window containing all the results of the regression which has been performed to obtain the p-values shown in the table appearing at the bottom left.
16.3.5 Axis Selector

Use the drop down menu (Fig. 16.4) to choose the variable (or spreadsheet column) to be plotted.
16.3.6 Logarithm Mode Selector (Spreadsheet Plots Only)
For spreadsheet plots, each column may be plotted with either its values shown directly (v) or the “-log10” of its values being shown (-log 10v). You may change this mode for any column any time using this selector. By default when first creating the plot, HelixTree will use “-log10” mode for any spreadsheet column whose header contains either “P” preceded by a space or “FDR”. Such a column is presumed to be a p-value column.
