6.1 Spreadsheet Overview

The HelixTree spreadsheet viewer allows the data to be previewed and manipulated before doing analysis.

NOTE: For the sake of consistency with other parts of this manual, each column in the spreadsheet is sometimes called a variable. (When you were importing the spreadsheet data, the columns may have been referred to as fields.)

Note that the spreadsheet viewer has pull-down menus, tool buttons, the main spreadsheet view on one of several tabs, and an “X” on the lower-right corner. The menus will be discussed in subsequent sections of this chapter. The tool buttons act as shortcuts to some of the menu items. If it turns out you do not need the data on the current tab, you can use the “X” on the lower-right corner to delete it, both from the view and from the project itself. (If you do not save the project changes, the action of such a deletion will not be saved and the tab will be retained.)
