It's time to kickoff one of our favorite events of the year, the annual T-Shirt Design Competition! The Golden Helix Community came up with some great ideas last year. We cannot wait to see how your jokes have become even better in the last year.

Here's how the competition works:

  • Draw it out or write it down; we accept either illustrated or written designs.
  • Email your designs to
  • Golden Helix, Inc. will select a number of finalists to advance to the GHI Community Polling level.
  • The three designs with the most votes will be put into production and unveiled at this year's ASHG conference in San Diego, CA.

Don't forget, we're offering cash prizes for the top three winning designs!

  • First Place: $200
  • Second Place: $150
  • Third Place: $100

(All winners will receive one of their winning t-shirts as well.)

*The competition closes August 6, 2018.
*Design concepts should be focused on genomics.

We will send out a vote to pick the top 3 designs, and winners will be notified on August 20, 2018 and announced on August 27, 2018. But, everyone will have to wait to get their hands on the newest t-shirts until ASHG on October 16, 2018! (You do not need to attend ASHG to compete or win, but you should since it's such a fantastic conference.)

We have just returned from another successful trip to Milano, Italy for the ESHG 2018 conference. This was an incredible experience for our company with record attendance to our booth for live demos, t-shirts and great conversations. To no surprise, there was a lot of interest in VSClinical, the latest addition to our clinical stack. We enjoyed seeing everyones reactions in-person when we demonstrated how easy it is to automate the ACMG guidelines with the tool. Now, we are preparing for a well-deserved summer after the Montana winter. But, that does not mean we wont be busy at work stay tuned for some more exciting announcements a little later on!

In this webcast, we are going to explore some modifications to our baseline trio template showing how to incorporate the ACMG classification results into the various workflows. This will include capturing de novo, compound heterozygous, and dominant heterozygous variants. We will score criteria related to variant frequency, gene impact, and available study information. Additionally, we will also investigate the clinical section of the ACMG guideline tool to see how to leverage the inheritance and allelic state of each variant. After this webcast, the user will discover new avenues of examining trio data by utilizing the ACMG classifier to improve upon one of our classic templates.
