Golden Helix's VarSeq Software to be used by PreventionGenetics to Dramatically Speed-Up Analysis Process
Bozeman, MT (February 09, 2015) — Today, Golden Helix, Inc. announced their collaboration with PreventionGenetics as PreventionGenetics readies to implement Golden Helix's software into their exome sequencing pipeline.
"This VarSeq software will allow us to move forward with offering an exome test," said Jerry Machado, Clinical Molecular Geneticist at PreventionGenetics. "The adoption of VarSeq will allow us to take abundant sequence from exome data and efficiently translate that into molecular diagnoses."
PreventionGenetics plans to use VarSeq for analysis of exome sequencing data. Use of the software will dramatically speed up the analysis process by narrowing down sequence data into gene(s) of interest based on inheritance patterns. This will facilitate the identification of clinically relevant variants based on DNA sequence. Plans to release exome sequencing for clinical diagnostics at PreventionGenetics are expected by mid-2015.
