3.4.5 View SD File

ChemTree has a compound viewer integrated into the software. This compound viewer can be invoked from different circumstances and perspectives throughout the program but acts in the same fundamental manner. The simplest use of the compound viewer is to view a plain SD file. To do this, use the File->View SD File menu option from the main window.

The user can click on compounds and save a subset of interest to a new SD file. The selected compounds will be highlighted in green. Within the Edit menu the user can select all or none of the compounds. The SD viewer is depicted next. Selected compounds can be saved to a new SD file.

The SD file browser can view huge SD files as it only loads into memory the compounds currently being viewed.

If you double click on a compound a single molecule viewer pops up that allows interactive rotation of the molecule:

If you left click and drag left to right or right to left, the molecule will be rotated about the Y axis. If you left click and drag up to down or down to up, the molecule will be rotated about the X axis. The X and Y axis are centered about the center of molecule as it is currently displayed.
