Calling all creatives, scientists, and fans of clever wordplay: Golden Helix is thrilled to kick-off the 2025 T-Shirt Design Competition! As we gear up for another exciting conference season, we want to see your witty ideas, genetics puns, and eye-catching graphics.
This year’s winning designs will be unveiled at the upcoming ASHG 2025 conference and displayed worldwide at all upcoming events as Golden Helix presents our genetic sequencing software to experts in the field. Whether you have extensive design experience or simply doodle in your spare time, we want to see what you’ve got!
Competition Details
If you’d like to participate in this year’s contest, please submit your information and sketch here by August 1st, 2025. Bonus points and special considerations will be given to any designs incorporating this year’s focus on ‘Long-Read Sequencing’ elements!

How It Works
- Draw or write it down; we accept illustrated and written designs.
- Submit your designs before or by the deadline: August 1st, 2025.
- Golden Helix will select three tiered winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes.
- Selected designs will be printed and unveiled at the ASHG 2025 conference.
Guidelines
To ensure your design is eligible, please follow these basic rules:
- Your design must be original, unpublished work—no copyrighted or third-party material.
- By entering the competition, you confirm your submission is your unique work.
- Designs must appeal to the Golden Helix and the broader genetics/genomics community.
- Must be clear, readable, and appropriate for a T-shirt format.
- You may use line art, text, or original photography.
- All designs are for the front of the shirt only.
Prizes:
Winners will be announced by the end of August, and their designs will be featured in our conference materials throughout the year.
- First Place: $300
- Second Place: $200
- Third Place: $100
All winners receive their design printed on a T-shirt!
