Presented By: Julia Love, Associate Director of Product Quality

Cancer diagnostics are evolving but so is Golden Helix CancerKB. Our latest updates take cancer interpretation to the next level with expanded diagnostic and prognostic coverage and a smarter, more clinically aligned cancer ontology.

In this webcast, we highlight the latest expansion of CancerKB’s diagnostic and prognostic content for solid tumors. Our expert curation team has integrated insights from authoritative sources including the NCCN and WHO along with peer-reviewed publications to generate written interpretations of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers across major cancer types such as breast, lung, and colorectal cancers as well as soft tissue neoplasms more broadly.

In addition, the team has refined the cancer ontology tree used within VSClinical AMP, ensuring it more closely aligns with clinical definitions and disease classifications defined by the NCCN and WHO. Attendees will learn how these updates streamline variant interpretation workflows, improve consistency across analyses, and empower laboratories and researchers to deliver more accurate and clinically actionable oncology insights.

What you will learn in this webcast:
  • How to apply the oncogenicity scoring algorithm in VarSeq to identify variants with strong diagnostic or research relevance in cancer workflows.
  • An overview of the key criteria and data sources—such as gene function, variant type, population frequency, and literature evidence—used to assess a variant’s oncogenic potential.
  • Step-by-step guidance on evaluating oncogenicity within VSClinical, including how to review supporting evidence, interpret classification results, and generate clinically aligned reports.
  • Best practices for maintaining consistency and accuracy in variant interpretation across samples and projects, using CancerKB and VSClinical’s integrated tools.
