Summer is in full swing, and we are kicking off July with an excellent round of articles our customer’s published citing our SVS software. Check out the snippets below, there may be one in there that peaks your interest!
- Curtis Van Tassell of the USDA and colleagues published Whole genome structural analysis of Caribbean hair sheep reveals quantitative link to West African ancestry in PLOS One which established the first quantifiable link between Caribbean hair sheep and their West African ancestors.
- Holly Neibergs of Washington State University, along with colleagues, published Case Study: Polymelia in a Holstein calf in the Professional Animal Scientist. The objective of the study was to determine what causes polymelia in a Holstein calf with bilateral thoracomelia.
- In PLOS One, Dario Kringel of the University of Frankfurt and colleagues published Next-generation sequencing of the humanTRPV1 gene and the regulating co-playersLTB4R and LTB4R2 based on a customAmpliSeq™panel in which a cohort of 80 healthy subjects of Western European descent were screened to evaluate and validate the detection of exomic sequences of the coding genes.
- Identification of a rare LAMB4 variant associated with familial diverticulitis through exome sequencing was published in Human Molecular Genetics by Glenn Gerhard of Temple University and colleagues. This study focuses on the results of whole exome sequencing performed on members from a single multi-generational family with early onset diverticulitis in order to identify a genetic component of the disease.
- Kaarina Kowalec of the University of British Columbia and colleagues published Application of pharmacogenomics to investigate adverse drug reactions to the disease-modifying treatments for multiple sclerosis: a case–control study protocol for dimethyl fumarate-induced lymphopenia in BMJ Open in which the team developed an efficient and comprehensive method to identify relevant biomarkers of drug harm through the Canadian Pharmacogenomics Network for Drug Safety.
