August is off to a great start, especially for some of our customers who have recently published. I wanted to take a minute to share their work with you.
- Gabor Meszaros of BOKU University Vienna and colleagues published Genome-Wide Selection Signatures in Pinzgau Cattle in Potravinarstvo Scientific Journal for Food Industry which used SNP BeadChips to identifygenomic regions near QTL associated with traits under strong selection in the cattle.
- In the Journal of Animal Science, Jose Bento Ferraz of the University of Sao Paulo and his colleagues published Breeding and Genetics: Genomic methods and application -Dairy W87 A GWAS on heat tolerance phenotypes for Italian Holstein bulls which conducted a genome-wide scan on a sample of Holstein Bulls using two measures of heat intolerance for milk yield and protein percentage.
- Aberrahim Oussalah of Henri Poincare University and colleagues published Exome-Wide Association Study Identifies New Low-Frequency and Rare UGT1A1 Variants and UGT1A6 Coding Variants Influencing Serum Bilirubin in Elderly Subjects in Medicine (Baltimore). This study used an exome-wide approach to assess the influence of protein coding variants in elderly subjects from Italy.
- The Alzheimer disease BIN1 locus as a modifier of GBA -associated Parkinson disease was published in the Journal of Neurology by Avi Orr-Utreger of the Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical center, along with colleagues. The study was aimed at identifying genetic modifiers of the the age at onset in GBA-associated PD.
- In Pharmacogenomics, Henk Visscher and Colin Ross of the University of British Columbia and colleagues published Genetic variants in SLC22A17 and SLC22A7 are associated with anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity in children which genotyped two cohorts treated for childhood caner for 4578 SNPs in drug ADME and toxicity genes.
