- Kristen Sund of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center along with colleagues published Acrofacial Dysostosis, Cincinnati Type, a Mandibulofacial Dysostosis Syndrome with Limb Anomalies, Is Caused by POLR1A Dysfunction in the AJHC which discovered that polr1a mutant zebrafish exhibited cranioskeletal anomalies mimicking the human phenotype.
- High-Resolution Genetic Map for Understanding the Effect of Genome-Wide Recombination Rate on Nucleotide Diversity in Watermelon was published in G3 by Umesh Reddy and Padma Nimmakayala of West Virginia State University along with their colleagues which used genotyping by sequencing to identify a set of SNPs markets to create a genetic map for a watermelon.
- Liang Wang of the Medical College of Wisconsin published Plasma genetic and genomic abnormalities predict treatment response and clinical outcome in advanced prostate cancer in Oncotarget along with colleagues. The study applied whole genome and targeted sequencing to examine the plasma cfDNAs from patients with advanced prostate cancer.
- Joo-Ho Chung of the Kyung Hee University Medical School and colleagues published Single nucleotide polymorphisms of the Fas gene are associated with papillary thyroid cancer in Auris Nasus Larynx which used direct sequencing to genotype Fas and FasL genes and evaluate the association between their SNPs.
- Early onset schizophrenia: Gender analysis of genome-wide potential methylation was published in Clinica Chimica Acta by Vincenzo De Luco at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health along with colleagues. The study analyzed genome-wide potential methylation in males and females with schizophrenia.
- Mohammad Akbari of the University of Toronto and colleagues published Germline RECQL mutations are associated with breast cancer susceptibility in Nature Genetics which used whole-exome sequencing to discover new breast cancer susceptibility genes.
- Genomic analysis for managing small and endangered populations: A case study in Tyrol Grey cattle was published in Frontiers in Genetics by Gabor Meszaros of the BOKU University Vienna which demonstrated how genomic data could be used to ascertain population structure in a small breed.
