Command-line Interface added to Golden Helix's VarSeq Software to Automate Clinical Pipelines

Bozeman, MT (June 17, 2015) — Today, Golden Helix, Inc. announced the addition of VSPipeline to their VarSeq software. VSPipeline is a command-line interface that will allow high throughput environments the ability to tap the full power of VarSeq's algorithms and flexible project template system from any command line context, including existing bioinformatics pipeline. The functionality is already in place in a number of organizations who implemented VarSeq as early adopters.

"With our VSPipeline we enable our large scale clinical users to automate workflows that have been designed and validated in VarSeq" said Andreas Scherer, President and CEO of Golden Helix. "This allows for a higher throughput while leveraging the full filtering and annotation capabilities of our technology stack. VSPipeline is key to scale up precision medicine."

VSPipeline supports the need to efficiently generate VarSeq projects from workflow-encoding project templates. Out of these automated pipelines will come fully produced VarSeq projects, ready for the technical and medical staff to jump into variant interpretation and reporting.

Bioinformatics core labs can also leverage the fast and flexible annotation algorithms in VarSeq and Golden Helix's unmatched and up-to-date public annotation repository with VSPipeline. Along with projects that can be opened with the free VarSeq Viewer, VSPipeline can generate other deliverables such as annotated and filtered reports of variants in Excel, Text or VCF files.

VarSeq software streamlines the process of annotating and filtering variants obtained from NGS pipelines, allowing both research scientists and clinicians to find variants of interest in a very efficient and straightforward manner. VarSeq simplifies the user interface and provides a scalable architecture featuring repeatable workflows, note taking, reporting, and filter parameter prototyping.
